Runner2 release date 'awfully close'

Wii U eShop game could be here this month

Runner2, the sequel to brilliant WiiWare game Bit.Trip Runner, could be released this month. An official release date has yet to be set but a tweet from Gaijin Games is encouraging for fans eager to get their hands on Commander Video's Wii U debut.

Tweeting from the CommanderVideo account, Gaijin posted this message: "There is no official release date yet, but it is AWFULLY close! We're trying to hit as close to 2/26 as possible!"

Commander Video has been given a makeover for his Wii U debut. In the retro original, the pixellated Commander sprinted through platform courses, jumping over and ducking under obstacles. In the sequel, he's in a 3D world - running through 100 Stages in 5 worlds whuch are packed with Loop de Loops, Square De Squares, diverging paths, checkpoints, speed boosts and rails. You can also expect extra playable characters, retro bonus challenges and a soundtrack by Disasterpeace.

Are you going to download Runner2?

According to steam its released 26th February. But Yeah, I'll be getting it when I eventually get a Wii U even though the new art style for Runner 2 is pretty horrid.

Ah, trust you to get the first comment. :D I've never actually played the first Runner, but this would make a good start, I guess.

I didn't like the old art style for Bit Trip Runner and it looks much better now.
