Biggest moments of the month - Pokemon X and Y, Watch Dogs Wii U and more

The biggest stories for 3DS and Wii U, plus the game of the month!

We won't kid you. In terms of new releases, February has been a pretty dire month for Nintendo fans as, the average Sonic And All-Stars Racing Transformed 3DS aside, we can't even think of a noteworthy game that was released in the shops for 3DS or Wii U.

Of course, Scribblenauts Unlimited was meant to launch for Wii U and 3DS on 8 February but the last minute delay scuppered that. However, there was plenty of exciting news for Nintendo fans. Here are the five biggest stories of the month. We say biggest and not best for a reason. One of them certainly doesn't qualify for the best story of the month.

5. Pokemon X and Y: Sylveon revealed

The unveiling of a new Pokemon for Pokemon X and Y shouldn't be such a big deal. After all, you'd expect new Pokemon to be revealed in the build up to the Pokemon X and Y release date but Sylveon is a bit different. Why? Because it's an Eevee evolution!

Eevee had three evolutions in Red and Blue (Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon), and a further two for Gold and Silver (Espeon, Umbreon) before skipping the third generation. Leafeon and Glaceon were Generation IV's Eeveelutions but, for the second time, Eevee skipped a generation with the Black and White games - probably because Pokemon Black and White only featured all-new Pokemon from the Unova region.

Now, the sixth new Pokemon to be revealed for Pokemon X and Y is an eighth Eeveelution but although we know its name, height and weight, very little is known about Sylveon and fans are still speculating about its Type weeks after it was revealed.

There can be do doubt what the biggest story in gaming was in February. Mutant Mudds 2 is coming to 3DS in 2014!

    It was for me.

Biggest moment for me came just a few hours ago - capcom announcing a update for monster hunter 3 ultimate which will add cross-region play and off screen support. :D

Yeah... I don't give a Scooby-Doo about the Year of Luigi. I only care about Nintendo pooling their efforts into promoting the hell out of Wii U so that it has a firmer more stable ground than what it's got now.

In terms of this month proving to be a victory for the vox populi, F-Zero at 60Hz was indeed the finest moment of the month. Yes I'm biased because I was one of the Pro-60 advocates, but when our voices are heard, together we can achieve greatness (unless you're Ubisoft, in which case, we got an exclusive mode to beta test ahead of Legends' release. Still, more support for Wii U softens the blow a little).

Other news, the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Cross-Region play feature in April is most definitely what we wanted. I guess Capcom realised the gravity of how utter terdulous locking netplay was across servers. Pokémon X and Y were huge news if you're a Nintendo fan, but as a general gaming fan, Sony deserve the spoils. Although, the PlayStation contingent aren't amused with the lack of continuous PSN support from PS3 purchases being carried over to the PS4 mind you. \o/

You guys are so full of biased crap. F-Zero being the game of the month. Sure, whatever. Let us know when you start living in the 21st century.

Seen any other good Nintendo games out then?
While for all-round gaming the best moment does belong to Sony and the PS4 reveal, for Nintendo exclusively, it had to be that latest Direct and all that was revealed. I also agree with the rest of the list, except for swapping Sylveon reveal with that definitive moment when the LEGO City Undercover - The Chase Begins trailer was released and we saw it was just as good as the WiiU version, and had a different story as well as taking the 3DS to the max.

Biased. Yawn. Believe me, we're not happy that we had to choose F-Zero as the game of the month but what else was there?

Don't understand how donkey Country 3D is higher than Watch Dogs.

To help put this into perspective, the only retail games released this month were Sonic and All-Stars Racing Trasformed on 3DS and Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 .
Next month is going to be more great with LEGO City Undercover, Luigi's Mansion 2, Monster Hunter and a whole host of other games, and then the games pick up from there.

Fist Of The North Star was only released through the eShop.

The the only retail game was Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed on 3DS.
Still, at least it beats another movie tie-in party game.
