FIFA 14 is coming to 3DS this week but, according to the latest Nintendo press release, it features no new gameplay features or modes. What's more, it costs £39.99.
That's right, it seems you're paying nearly £40 for FIFA 13 with updated squads and kits. Here's the official description for FIFA 14 on 3DS:
FIFA 14 Legacy Edition delivers unmatched authenticity that reflects the current football season with updated kits and rosters but no updates to gameplay or game modes. It features 30 officially licensed leagues, 50 real-world tournaments, and 500 authentic clubs. Play traditional matches or free your game in epic 5-v-5 street matches with 3D effects. Play as a real-world superstar or re-create yourself. Optional touch screen controls deliver pin-point shooting and passing at your finger-tips.
According to the Amazon description, FIFA 14 on Wii will also be the same as FIFA 13 but with updated kits and squads. You may remember that FIFA 13 Wii caused controversy for being pretty much the same game as FIFA 12. This time, EA hasn't hidden its intentions by announcing that the is basically the same.
EA isn't releasing FIFA 14 on Wii U. Why bother releasing it on 3DS if that's how little effort is being put in?
Also, it's a squad not a roster...
