Seeing as this latest Popcorn Arcade game has been developed for kids, it's somewhat ironic that Crazy Mini Golf is a really tough game to pick up and play.
You slip your Remote into a plastic club included with the game, which you'd imagine is supposed to make you feel like you are actually playing a round of mini golf. But it's nothing like the real thing.
The fact that you need to swing right back to register any kind of power makes you feel like you're on the driving range rather than a crazy golf course. Still, you'll soon learn that your backswing has nothing to do with the power of the shot. You swing your club back and unless you follow through, your swing will stop before you reach the ball. Strangely, unlike when you are actually playing golf, the follow through is all in the wrists meaning you have to make a completely unnatural motion to hit the ball. It's all very odd and makes it very difficult to judge the power of your shots.
Supposedly representing the 'next generation' of Popcorn Arcade quality, all it proves is that you should be steering clear of garage-counter quality like this. It's crazy all right, but not in a good way.
