Live Minutes

  • Less than two hours to go now. You're already lining up your wish lists for the conference. Microhenry commented: "If new Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Starfox and F-Zero games are revealed then microhenry will be happy."
  • We make it 75 minutes to go now, and we're pumped. Neil is on his way to the conference hall, and we're ready and waiting for Nintendo's announcements. Confirmed guests include Reggie Fils-Aimes, Cammie Dunaway and Satoru Iwata. Will Miyamoto be there? Come on, it's E3!
  • 40 minutes to go now. Just got a text from Neil: "On way to the conference, ready to tweet like a"... well, we're afraid we can't finish that one for the sake of decency.
  • 10 minutes to go! Neil has taken his seat. Not long left...
  • A few doubters have commented on the comments section. NirdBerd says "It's gonna suck again. Prove me wrong". Well, hopefully Nintendo will do just that soon.
  • We're getting underway...
  • A video montage is being shown, explaining how Nintendo games can be played by everyone.
  • Cammie Dunaway takes to the stage. She says that "there is one thing everyone here has in common - a connection to video games."
  • New Mario game about to be announced...
  • "For the last 15 years, Mr Miyamoto has been thinking about a new way to let you play a Mario game that's never been possible before."
  • New Super Mario Bros Wii announced!
  • Wow - four player co-op New Super Mario Bros. You can carry opponents and battle against other players to try and grab coins.
  • Main game can be played in single-player, or in co-op. Drop-in, drop-out.
  • New power-up, the Propellor Suit. Flick the Remote to spin into the air like a helicopter.
  • At the end of each level it tells you how many coins you collected, enemies you stomped etc and gives you a ranking.
  • New Super Mario Bros Wii launches worldwide this Christmas.
  • Moving onto the Balance Board. 15 million copies of Wii Fit sold worldwide.
  • Wii Fit Plus announced. Six new strength and yoga activities, but you can combine them in any order you want, and can cut out the breaks in between each exercise so you can constantly work out for 30, 40, 60 minutes at a time without having to keep stopping and choose a new excercise.
  • 15 new balance games: juggling, skateboarding, Perfect 10 (where you have to lean to add numbers to ten), and a Mario-style platformer mini-game.
  • Wii Fit Plus out this autumn both with the Balance Board, and as stand-alone software (for those who already have it).
  • Reggie Fils-Aime takes to the stage.
  • He's talking about how the Remote, the Nunchuk and the Balance Board helped innovate. He's going to talk in detail about Wii MotionPlus now.
  • Montage video showing off Wii MotionPlus. Shows people playing Wii Sports Resort: table tennis, basketball, fencing, golf, archery, kayak, frisbee and jetski.
  • Wii Sports Resort being shown. Skydiving level starts as an intro scene. The Remote acts as your Mii. You can rotate and twist it to make the Mii move around in the air, and try to make them grab other skydivers' hands. Looks pretty cool.
  • Archery now. Hold the Remote vertically in your hand and hold A with your thumb. Pull the Nunchuk back holding Z and move the Remote to accurately aim.
  • Final sport being shown - basketball. It's a three-point contest. You have to reach down with the Remote then make a throwing motion (as if you were throwing a real basketball). MotionPlus makes the throws totally accurate. You're against the clock so you have to throw as many balls as possible.
  • Other Wii MotionPlus games being discussed. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis, Virtua Tennis 2009, Red Steel 2.
  • Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers being shown. Looks really cool. Much more action-packed than your traditional RPG.
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days shown for DS. Coming out 29 September in the US. Looks incredible. Loads of voice acting and four-player co-op gameplay.
  • Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story shown (formerly Mario & Luigi RPG 3). We've been playing the Japanese version for a while in the office and can confirm it's worth getting excited about. Release date is this autumn in Europe.
  • Golden Sun DS announced. Looks pretty special. Should be a treat for RPG fans.
  • Cammie's back. From 13 October, James Patterson's Women's Murder Club: Games Of Passion announced for DS. An all-new mystery story from James Patterson (top mystery writer). Looks... interesting. Seems to be a sort of mystery game with mini-games.
  • Cop: The Recruit from Ubisoft announced for DS. Looks surprisingly decent, almost like PS2 Grand Theft Auto 3 on DS.
  • Style Savvy announced for DS. Some sort of fashion game aimed at girls. They can't all be Mario, we suppose!
  • DSi video being shown. People talking about how cool it is. More than 1 million sold in the US in the first two months.
  • Moving Memo shown. Will be called Flipnote Studio in America this summer.
  • Mario Vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again announced for DSiWare. You can make your own levels and upload them to friends. Launches in America this MONDAY. We should hopefully get it soon.
  • WarioWare: DIY announced. Lets players design their own mini-games from scratch and send them to friends.
  • Beginning this summer, you will be able to directly upload DSi photos to Facebook using the DSi. Awesome!
  • The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks mentioned. Nothing shown, but it'll be playable this week at E3 so Neil will give a hands-on later on.
  • Satoru Iwata takes to the stage. Woooo!
  • He says Nintendo divides the population into three groups: those who regularly play games, those who would never play, and those who may play. He says there are 295 million people regularly playing, but another 149 million who may play. "for every to people playing games, there is another person who might join in."
  • He says he's concerned by games getting harder because it'll not attract new gamers, but he's also aware that if they lower the bar, hardcore gamers will be put off. He says the balance has to appeal to both advanced players and novices: games like the original Donkey Kong.
  • He says that Mario Kart Wii is one such game, that appealed to casual and hardcore gamers. He says that New Super Mario Bros Wii is going to be another one.
  • Wii Vitality Sensor announced. It's a sensor that you put your finger in so it can measure your pulse. People will be able to use the software coming out for the Vitality Sensor to help enhance their relaxtion.
  • Cammie's back, saying there's more. She says they've shown New Super Mario Bros Wii, Mario & Luigi 3 and Mario Vs Donkey Kong. But there's more!
  • SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2! It's got YOSHI in it. Looks ACE. There's a snow level, an underwater one, a haunted level that's a sort of maze, the Bee suit's back. We want it NOW.
  • Reggie says "I'll be honest. I read the blogs too, and I've been a gamer for a long time. I know there are people out there saying "I want more". And that's generally associated with publishers not named Nintendo."
  • Some third-party games being shown. A trailer for The Conduit is being shown.
  • Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles also being shown.
  • Dead Space Extraction trailer being shown. Reggie's basically driving the point home that more "hardcore" games are on their way. Dead Space trailer looks excellent.
  • "But what about Nintendo itself? Could a new edgier game be coming from us? Absolutely."
  • Nintendo and Team Ninja have been collaborating to make a new Metroid game! SWEET LORD. It's called Metroid: Other M and looks ACE, Looks like Ninja Gaiden on the 360 with Samus. Third-person action. Coming out 2010. AWESOME.
  • "A Metroid game unlike any you've ever experienced before. it'll take you deeper into Samus's story."
  • "In the end we believe we CAN provide something for everyone."
  • The conference ends. Two new Mario games, a Mario Vs Donkey Kong game on DSiWare this week and a new Metroid game from Team Ninja? Awesome.

    first comment wahoo!

i got a feeling nintendo will hopefully redeem themselves from last year. I think there will be more revealed on the new zelda and mario games and hopefully a completetly new series of games.

Though nintendo has been fairly unpredictible up to this point. This conference can either excell or fall flat on its face.

    Fingers crossed!

The annoucments by microsft were alrady outsatnding and this year it looks like nintendo's could be good this year too! Still thier gonna need something really good to compare with the new xbox 3d camera thing!

Hope Nintedo can pull something out the bag to match microsofts rather bold conferance...I got that kind of feelling from microsoft, like, they were all a bit dilluded and they thought there console was unstoppible and it would soon rule the world. Sorta thing :?... No?

  5. master dingley Monday 1st Jun 2009 at 20:50

It's gonna have to be something big this year to out do microsofts.
As much as I hate to admit it, it was bloody good!

I thought that for DS and Wii owners in particular, the EA conference was pretty disapointing. Come on Nintendo, show them all how it's done!

I'm pretty sure that you will be able to see Nintendo's conference on IGN after it's finished, but not sure of the exact link, sorry. ONM might have it on here, you never know.

Wow I wonder how long it will be before everyone goes ZOMG NINTENDO SCREWED US AGAIN!!!!111111one1!1

Their presentation will suck like it has done since Nintendo became 'cool' again. If anyone seriously thinks that Nintendo are gonna come running back to the fanboys then they are wrong. All they care about are the casuals.
Betting $99999999999 that their conference will consist of:
    - Wii Fit Plus
    - Cammie's kids
    - Charts
    - Wii Sports Resort
    - Mario and Zelda Teams are working hard
    - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Cash-in
    - More Charts
    - Then *SURPRISE* Wii <Insert Pointless Activity>

I have no expectations for this soon to be disaster

I'd like to give the ONM staff a round of applause and a big thank you for the excellent E3 coverage we have been receiving so far. And the fact that we'll be able to watch Nintendo's conference on here is beyond what I could have expected. So thanks guys, and here's here's hoping that Nintendo kick ass today!

I reckon that Microsoft are going to control this years E3, what with Project Natal. Nintendo is going to have to pull a huuuge rabbit out of their creative hat to top that.

I can definitely relate to that, I often do the same thing myself, not have my expectations too high. However, I just love Nintendo so much, and the nearer we get to kick off, the more excited I'm getting. Not long to go now.

  40. SoggyYud Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 16:42

Oh My! Golden Sun DS just saved this conference!

  41. Cinaclov Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 16:44

  44. dalekmaster Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 16:52

Don't know what to think of this, as soon as something rubbish is shown, something good comes up.

Overall though, this is fairly rubbish. Anyone got a 360?

  45. 91nintendo Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 16:53

    Oh. What a shame.

    Wii Fit Plus.
    Wii Sports Resort.

    New Super Mario Bros Wii.

    Sigh.

  46. Links Apprentice Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 16:54

Oh My! Golden Sun DS just saved this conference!

    NEW METROIDD
    WE IS ALL SAVED!!!

  60. darthmario Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 18:00

This years E3 was great! I don't know why some people are complaining!

Hardcore Nintendo fans got Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid and Golden Sun while casual players got more info about Wii Sports Resort and Wii fit Plus.

Other gems include WarioWare DIY and New Super Mario Bros Wii not to mention the videos of the Conduit, Resident Evil and Dead Space.

The only thing that did ruin it was the Vitality sensor. Its just stupid.

    Anyways good E3 overall.

  61. SS Vegeta Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 18:02

Mario Galaxy 2 and the new Metroid saved that conference. Apart from that, it was lacklustre. Again.

There wasn't anything there that truly astounded me. It was certainly better than last years, though. The thing is, I was constantly surprised and impressed during Microsoft's talk. Most of Nintendo's conference, I had my head in my hands. It was just boring. And that woman could barely smile. At least Reggie was entertaining.

Why does the new SMB for Wii look like its DS counterpart?
    James Patterson?
The Wii Vitality Sensor? What? Show some footage of it in action, to at least try and interest me.
Enough with the figures and sales. We've seen them countless times.

Wii Sports Resort looks good, and SMG2 and the new Metroid look amazing. I cried out with joy when those two appeared. But how about some new games from old franchises, like Star Fox or F-Zero? Even Pikmin!

  62. Dana_ava Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 18:20

    Pretty good (:
    much better than last time

    I'm definatley getting
    . new mario bros
    . spirit trackers
    . lego harry potter
    . mystery dungeon
    . galaxy 2
    . kingdom hearts

    rather excited now (:

  63. The Batman Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 18:40

Iam really pleased with this years E3. Twas really good! Really looking forward to motion plus, metroid and mario games. Not too sure about the vitality spherical though but who knows might be amazing. I think that the xbox conference was slightly better though with its amazing 3d camera, sky tv and movies.Xbox also got Metal gear solid and FF13.

  64. NXtreme Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 18:46

The Vitaly Sensor is just stupid and pointless. It will probably be used for one game, Wii Relax, or something, just to make people spend large amounts of money on another casual Wii-Fit-esque game thats fun for about a week before it becomes a chore

  65. Kirby8 Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 19:00

Oh My! Golden Sun DS just saved this conference!

Then the vitality sensor ruined it

    LOL!! I know!!!

  66. Super_Sonic96 Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 19:07

This years E3 was fantastic! You got 2 mario's, a zelda, a new metroid, a resi, and even a load of custom games! (I really want the mario vs DK on DSiware!)

  67. Ai64 Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 20:10

Wow. A whole lot of new games coming our way. I really can't wait.

  68. yellowhead Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 20:18

    New Super Mario Bros Wii:
Oh no, its finally happened. They have turned a 'core' Mario game into a party game. *Facepalm* The graphics also seem like a lazy effort

    Wii Fit:
It looks like some nice new features but i honestly beleive that the features in Wii Fit Plus should really have been included in the original game

    Wii Sports Resort:
Wow...skydiving. It looks really really fun (sarcasm) It doesn't look that fun.

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story:
Looking pretty good. We have a vague release date and a clever new name. Looks like this conference is starting to pick up :D

    Golden Sun:
    OMFG!!!!!!!! I LOVE GOLDEN SUN!!!!!!

    Women's Murder Club:
    ....your kidding right?

    Cop The Recruit:
Looks nice, but it seems like a Grand Theft Auto clone but its early days for it so i won't judge that much

    Style Savvy:
THIS IS THE GAME THEY ARE MAKING INSTEAD OF A NEW ZELDA ON WII!!!???

    Mario vs Donkey Kong:
I never played the GBA ones but it looked pretty good. The user created content seems to work well. I will keep an eye on this one

    WarioWare DIY:
It looks impressive. Creating your own micro-games looks like the only way forward for the series and its a really clever way to go. Well done. I'm starting to have faith in DSiWare now

    Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks:
They just showed a picture? Why? We want to see something

    SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2!!!!!:
Now this is more like it. Nintendo's trump card. It looks great im sure it plays great! It sounds....where have the beautiful orchestrated soundtracks gone? Oh no...no no no no no Nintendo. Please tell me you haven't gone back to MIDI music

    3rd party 'core' games:
Dead Space, Resident Evil and The Conduit. They are all looking good but...only 3?

    Metroid:
(Trailer starts) - "What is this?"
(View of clouds) - "KID ICARUS!!??"
(View of space) - "STAR FOX!!??"
(View of girl in space ship) - "...Sin and Punishment?"
(Zero Suit) - "HOLY s**t ITS METROID MADE BY THE NINJA GAIDEN TEAM"

    The End:
.....is that it? It was only an hour long. There were hardly any game? What the hell. How can it be so short and not show anything. Where is Zelda? Where is Star Fox? Where is...anything we haven't seen before?

  69. Mrlizard Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 20:26

Metroid: Other M was the highlight, but nothing else really stood out and Motion Plus has just been completely been crapped on by Microsoft and Sony.

  70. Dr_HOYLE Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 20:31

They kept mentioning having something for everyone. Well that conference displayed a wide variety of things but they seem to have forgotten the small group of people at the midpoint between casual and hardcore such as myself. I suppose they gave us Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside story.

I am disappointed. Nothing really to excite me. I'm slightly interested and I will likely try a couple of the games but nothing mentioned to really look forward to. No mention of GSDS... Hold on. Damn. Now there's Golden Sun I can't use that for Gold and Silver remakes.

Mario Bris Wii, I'll try it out. Worth a go I guess.
GSDS, I've never played a Golden Sun game before so it'll be interesting to have a go.
Metroid: Other M, if I don't like this I'll never play another Metroid game again. Heres hoping for a third time lucky to get into this franchise. I'm a bit confused by the end of the trailer, was that a second Samus Aran or was I imagining things to make the conference interesting?

I'm certainly avoiding Galaxy 2, first one was terrible and the sequel looks the same.

  71. Dr_HOYLE Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 20:33

I Still have to play metroid prime 3 and super mario galaxy yet!! Oh well looks as though I'll be getting at least 4 games for chistmas.

  73. Googoo12444 Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 20:42

I Still have to play metroid prime 3 and super mario galaxy yet!! Oh well looks as though I'll be getting at least 4 games for chistmas. Yay ( those other posts I've made about nothingiteresting me is not true anymore!)

  74. Dark_Dragon01 Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 21:00

I'm glad we got shiny new Metroid and Mario, but I was crushed at the lack of StarFox and Kirby. Come on Nintendo, hurry up and bring Fox and co. back to their roots, and finish that Kirby Wii game that is supposedly being made.

  75. Cyberguy Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 21:04

This will be a real treat :D

  76. Mario maniac Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 21:57

    FLIPPIN' WOW!!!!
A glimpse at my username should tell you why i am excited!
What an ultimate E3! last year's was tosh...

  77. aceowen Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 22:01

so much for the metroid prime 3 secret ''dread message'' being proved wrong! i bet this has been in the works for ages! any objections lady?

  78. lfcwaluigi1 Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 22:13

im really pleased with nintendo conference but surely theres more to come with zelda wii, and i was sure Pit would appear at sometime, and wishing timesplitters 4 to appear somewhere :¬(
oh yeah and dsi vc, i thought that would be given after that big zelda feature you did :¬(

i was a bit apprehensive about smg 2 but as soon as i watched the vid i was hooked again.

I was amazed at nsmbwii becuase i was calling sega/sonic racing on here and saying id like to be more retro, 2d style and then this appears :D looks like it could be as addictive as brawl/melee.

meh. im not that fussed over wii fit plus, the first one is working fine.

omg. metroid looks freaking amazing, ive not properly played a 3d metroid yet but i cant resist this.

also, to people downing the vitality sensor, yes it sound like the most casual gaming thing ever, but couldnt it be utilised for a horror/ thriller game like lit, using your nervous reactions or something.

only showing 3 of the 3rd party hardcore games, they missed out silent hill, cursed mountain, moon: just some of the top of my head.

still, there squite a few must have games shown there:
    -new super mario bros wii
    -super mario galaxy wii
    -red steel 2
    -spirit tracks
    -metroid: other m
    -conduit
    -s&p
    -layton 2
and some more to keep an eye on:
    -lego hp
    -wii sports resort
    -m&l: bowsers inside story
    -golden sun ds
and obviously with nintendo theres a scary ones:
    -style savvy
-possibly the vitality sensor(i dont know much details about this, so i cant judge)

now with 8 great must buy games for me (3 announced at e3) and motion plus. im very happy :D but am missing zelda, kid icarus, ts4 and dsi vc, though i wont be thinking of them when i read all your previews

  79. jakku kun Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 22:24

well so far nintendo have announced some good stuff but yno what i find ironic?

Nintendo where all like "look at me I got new even better wiimote add on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111one1111!"

and then microsofts just like "duuuude i got like whole body sensor thing.... pwned...."

it just makes me laugh... tbh all I wnt now is a 360 that has mario, zelda, metroid and all the other decent games on it... sadly that wont happen...

  80. AbbaCraka Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 22:39

And Sony was like, Damn Microsoft thats a bold move you made there, hope you can put the ham on that sandwich. WHABAM, motion sensor control which does what Wii does 'cept better.

  81. Random-Hero Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 23:18

While Sony's show was a huge blowout; only MGS intrests me... Why does Nintendo and Konami never make games together. ='C

  82. celtic_badger Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 23:38

I thought the new 3-D mario would be set in space but i could not think of a storyline to send the plumber into space again. I cant wait to here the storyline and have a chuckle. :D

  83. The Arbiter Tuesday 2nd Jun 2009 at 23:41

    first one was terrible

    RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!

  84. Dr_HOYLE Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 06:24

    Huh?

It was the worst and most pointless addition to the series since Super Princess Peach. Man, did both games suck.

Anyway, about this Vitality sensor... WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING! I can only think of one possible game that can be controlled by pulse rate and it would complete itself. The idea would to do some exercise to increase your pulse rate. But the increase in pulse from being angry at how bad the game is and how much money wasted would be sufficient to complete the game.

And he mentioned making games to help people get to sleep. No thanks, Final Fantasy III gets me to sleep quick enough.

What really annoyed me about the conference though was that woman! AARGH!

  85. Super Luigi Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 07:58

So....what happened in the Sony one? I missed it after watching this tosh.

  86. Zarnak Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 11:17

    O. To the M. To the G.

Super Mario Galaxy 2?! New Super Mario Bros? Golden Sun DS!!!!!!!!!!! Metroid. Wow those trailers are amazing. Would've wet myself if I hadn't gone to the toilet. And thus is my opinion of this year's E3.
Thanks ONM. And mainly Nintendo of course.

  87. Gerry-rich Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 11:58

  88. Ganondorf Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 12:29

The only things from Nintendo that interested me were Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Although I'm a big Metroid fan, and I loved the first Galaxy game.

One problem; Metroid in 3rd Person? Maybe not a good idea, considering Metroid 3 was a solid FPS with very few bugs. Why change it?

I respect the fact that you perhaps did not find Super Mario Galaxy to be enjoyable, but 99% of people and reviewers found the game to be superb, so it's truly not a bad game.

I agree that Wii Vitality was odd, and I can't really visualise what Nintendo could possible have in mind with it. But I wouldn't pass judgement until we get a greater indication of its purpose.

  90. Prince_Ashitaka Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 12:42

Super Mario Galaxy 2. Imaginative title. I'm more looking forward to third party stuff it seems. Though Metroid looks kinda cool.

  91. billybob9000 Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 14:03

Personally i think this conference marks the beginning of the end for Zelda games (not on handheld). The fact that Nintendo have managed to put enough material together to advertise another super mario galaxy game ,despite the original coming out less than 2 years ago, and not have enough material to advertise a new console Zelda game (despite the last one coming out 3 years ago) shows which game they care about most. The fact is i'm not even sure i'm all that bothered that they didnt announce a new Zelda game as it will probably be dedicated to mini games and stuff for the family. Nintendo has sold out big style with their biggest mistake being allowing microsoft to take Rare.

allowing? microsoft bought rare, and nintendo weren't doing so well back then so they couldn't stop it from happening.

If new Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Starfox and F-Zero games are revealed then microhenry will be happy :D

If not, then microhenry will fly to LA and stab Miyamoto :D

If new Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Star Fox and F-Zero games are revealed then Nintendo win the world, close the internet.

And no stabbing comments please, even ones that are meant as a 'joke'. Thanks.

Who are you to decide the forum rules?

I'm a person who doesn't take kindly to jokes about stabbing, simple as that. If you feel otherwise, you're on the wrong forum.

That bassically somes it up for me lol

  98. RealToonLink Wednesday 3rd Jun 2009 at 17:01

I'm happy with this years E3, excited for Galaxy 2 and NSMB Wii.

Also excited for Zelda Wii despite no footage and Metroid Other M (looks different).

However for me there is an overall disappointment that no old franchises came back. Mario is great and all but what about Star Fox? What about F-Zero? What about a Kid Icarus game?

If new Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Starfox and F-Zero games are revealed then microhenry will be happy :D

If not, then microhenry will fly to LA and stab Miyamoto :D

If new Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Star Fox and F-Zero games are revealed then Nintendo win the world, close the internet.

And no stabbing comments please, even ones that are meant as a 'joke'. Thanks.

I'm a person who doesn't take kindly to jokes about stabbing, simple as that. If you feel otherwise, you're on the wrong forum.

But its a joke... You know- jokes are when you don't take things seriously.

Just because you found it unfunny, doesn't mean everyone else did. People use different humour on forum some of which is quite offensive and if you can't handle that, then you're on the wrong forum.

    New Super Mario Bros Wii:
Oh no, its finally happened. They have turned a 'core' Mario game into a party game. *Facepalm* The graphics also seem like a lazy effort

Has is it a party game?! Theres no mini games in sight!

    Wii Fit:
It looks like some nice new features but i honestly beleive that the features in Wii Fit Plus should really have been included in the original game

    Wii Sports Resort:
Wow...skydiving. It looks really really fun (sarcasm) It doesn't look that fun.

Well the skydiving bit is only an introduction to the Motionplus so its not going to be fantastic. The rest of the game looks insanely fun.

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story:
Looking pretty good. We have a vague release date and a clever new name. Looks like this conference is starting to pick up :D

    Golden Sun:
    OMFG!!!!!!!! I LOVE GOLDEN SUN!!!!!!

    Women's Murder Club:
    ....your kidding right?

    Cop The Recruit:
Looks nice, but it seems like a Grand Theft Auto clone but its early days for it so i won't judge that much

    Style Savvy:
THIS IS THE GAME THEY ARE MAKING INSTEAD OF A NEW ZELDA ON WII!!!???

They are making Zelda on Wii and they still have to make games for casual DS players too.

Isn't that enough?! 3 amazing hardcore shooters for the Wii is great news.

Forgetting NSMB Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Warioware DIY, Metroid and Zelda Wii.

It seems like a party game because (from what was shown) its a similiar format to Mario Party, but its a side scroller. The whole coins aspect and scoring makes it seem like a party game.

The zelda comment was a typo, i meant "This is what they are showing instead of a new zelda?" My fault.

Those 3 'core' games are looking good, but we i wanted to see new games. We have known about these games for a while. But a new metroid is great news.

I can handle offensive humour. What you don't seem to understand is that in this day and age, when children are being stabbed to death on a daily basis, I don't think it's appropriate to make a joke out of it. There are a lot of young people on these forums, are you saying that it's ok for them to think that stabbing someone is 'humourous'? If you think that's ok, you're on the wrong forum.

    ?????

1.To be honest I think you watch way too much news, young people get a lot of bad press these days but for the most part it is not as bad as it is made out to be, young people are young people, not vicious beasts that cant have a day without fighting.

2.This is not meant to be offensive humour, it is not even meant to be a joke in my opinion, Its a figure of speech, to show frustration. It is not in anyway related to the young people stabbed, saying it is is like linking a parent/teacher saying "I'll kill you!" to Baby P's Torture

    3. I am a young person, and the thing that frustrates me the most is how over-pretective people can be, even to young people they have never met, i think you need to loosen up, the fact is for most young people, knife crime is the last thing on thier minds.

No, the fact is that knife crime in this country is higher than it's ever been, especially among young people. I just don't think it's something worth joking about. Maybe I'm wrong.

For me, the best three new E3 announcements have to be the zelda, metroid and New super mario bros wii. Mario galaxy 2 sounds nice but i'm not a huge fan.

  108. wiiman 101 Thursday 4th Jun 2009 at 16:32

Any word on Mario Super Sluggers? Not saying anything should have been announced, but we haven't seen anything for ages. Not even an E3 demo?

Bet he feels a muppet now :D

to be fair he was preety darn close, but he missed metroid.. i would say he only had to pay Ł20

Cant wait to see what they show, although does anyone know where I could watch this after it has been on live? Ive got a doctors appointment tomorrow at EXACTLY the same time as Nintendo's conference starts

Nintendo.com - then click on the big blue E3 link - then "webcast".

  117. metroid fan Tuesday 9th Jun 2009 at 15:59

I thought that nintendo's conference was good, way better than last years E3.

for me the best announcements had to be mario galaxy 2 and metroid other m. I really don't see the point of wii fit plus I thought the first one showed off the balance board well so why does there need to be another wii fit, I would have rather they work on a differant game with balance board controls.

besides wii fit all the other announcements were good althought some of them people already knew about. 8)
