New Nintendo Downloads

Final Fantasy DLC plus WiiWare, DSiWare and Virtual Console releases.
After releasing just two downloads last week, Nintendo are boosting their Wii and DS shopping channels with four new games, plus some downloadable content for two Final Fantasy titles.

From tomorrow Spaceball Revolution will be available through WiiWare, 2-In-1 Solitaire is coming to DSiWare while Solomon's Key and Rygar will be released through the Virtual Console.

Final Fantasy fans will also be able to download content for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A Darklord and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.

Spaceball Revolution (800 Wii Points) is a futuristic WiiWare puzzle game from Virtual Toys that sees you attempting to reconstruct shapes by shooting space energy balls. You'll be against the clock as you try and complete puzzles on time in 15 levels. You can deflect balls off walls to avoid obstacles as you compete in different difficulty levels. You can play against a friend in a split-screen mode or go solo and compare your score with the best players in the world.

2-in-1 Solitaire (200 DSi Points) brings two of the most popular versions of the card game - Spider and Klondike - to DSi. In Spider, the aim is to arrange cards in piles of a single suit from King down to Ace. When all cards are removed, you win the game.

The goal of Klondike is to arrange cards from Ace to King in piles, one for each suit, on the four foundations. You win when all cards have been moved to the foundations.

Solomon's Key (500 Wii Points) was originally released by Tecmo in the arcades in 1986. It came to NES a year later but this is the arcade version. In this action/puzzle game, you control the wizard Dana and delve into a labyrinth to seek out a magical tome called Solomon's Key, the item that will aid you in your quest to drive away evil spirits.

The object of the game is to advance through the 50 rooms of Constellation Space by acquiring a key to the door that leads to the next room before a timer runs out. To do this, Dana needs to create and destroy blocks. Dana can run, jump, create or destroy orange blocks next to him as well as create fireballs to destroy demons.

Rygar (600 Wii Points) is another Tecmo Virtual Console Arcade release. This side-scrolling action game was originally released in 1986 and puts you in the shoes of Rygar, a legendary warrior brought back to life by humans suffering at the hands of the resurrected ancient Beast Lord. Playing as Rygar, you must make use of your trusty Disk Armour to get through 27 stages.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Now for the downloadable content. First up is Chapter 9 (800 Wii Points) of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. In The Crystals - the final chapter of the role-playing game - the world is on the brink of destruction and the heroes converge at Baron Castle. What has become of the stolen Crystals and what is the true nature of the Mysterious Girl? You'll find out as you play through this massive final episode.

Lastly we have new items for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A Darklord. The following items will expand your darklord's evil arsenal and are available for 200-500 Wii Points. They are A Fateful Clash, Gloomy Armband, Wailing Doll, and Kain.

That's all for this week. What do you think of the selection of downloads?
