Got Pokémon Platinum? From today until 8 November you'll be able to get hold of Shaymin for your Pokédex! All you need to receive the 492nd Pokémon is a special letter from Professor Oak via Wi-Fi Connection!
Shaymin was first available in Diamond And Pearl via special distribution and now, for a limited time, this special Pokémon is being made available for Platinum. It will appear in Land Forme when you first encounter it but can change into Sky Forme when you get a special item in Floarama Town. Once you've got Shaymin in your Pokédex you'll be able to go to a place in Victory Road that you couldn't access before.

In order to get Shaymin, you'll have to do a bit of work. First, if you haven't already got the Secret Key or Member Card from previous distributions, you'll need to talk to the TV producer on the third floor of Jubilife TV in Jubilife City. He'll ask you some questions and you'll need to give him the following answers:-

Then you'll need to save your game and restart your DS. If you've done everything correctly, or if you already have the Member Card or Secret Key, "Mystery Gift" should appear on the Start menu. Select "Receive Gift", then "Get Via Nintendo WFC" and choose "Yes".
To receive Oak's letter you should go to any Poké Mart to pick it up from the deliveryman dressed in green who will be standing in front of the counter. Check your key items and you'll notice that Oak's letter is there. Finally, you should save your game.
