Do you ever play on your old consoles? The advent of Virtual Console means there's less reason to dust off your old consoles than before as you can find some of the best old games in the Wii Shop. Still, after reading a feature on Games Radar this lunchtime about restoring your NES to its former glory, it made me think about digging out my NES for some old school gaming action this evening.
Not that my NES needs restoring, mind. I bought mine from eBay a few years back with a copy of Super Mario Bros. and I suppose the plumber's first masterpiece would be the first game that I would play. After that I think I'd get my Excitebike skills back up to snuff in preparation for the release of the game on WiiWare before perhaps playing a bit of Mega Man 2 to see if I still have the skills to complete it.
I imagine I'll give up on Mega Man 2 and play a few games that aren't on Virtual Console. There seems little point in dragging out the NES to only play games that I can download and play on my Wii. So I'll play Duck Hunt and RC Pro Am. This racing game was the first big NES game from Rare so it's unlikely to be on Virtual Console any time soon.
