DSi XL Sells Over 100,000

Nintendo's new handheld shifts large numbers in Japan
Nintendo's new DSi XL sold over 100,000 units in its first two days on sale in Japan.

The new larger model of Nintendo's hit handheld launched at the weekend and Nintendo fans queued in the streets of Tokyo to get their hands on the DSi XL (or DSi LL as it's known in Japan.)

103,524 DSi XL consoles were sold in the first two days according to Famitsu (via NintendoEverything. That's less than the 170,000 managed by DSi in the same timeframe but it's still a good return considering it's simply a larger version of the system.

The DSi XL will launch in the UK in the first quarter of 2010. We received ours in the office yesterday. You can watch a video of us taking it out of its box below. Click here to read Tom's first impressions of the new handheld.
