Monster Hunter Tri hits UK in April

Nintendo getting behind Capcom's big hope for 2010
Nintendo will put its marketing muscle behind Capcom's Monster Hunter Tri when it's released for Wii in April.

This means Nintendo will be responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of Capcom's big Wii game in Europe and Australia.

Monster Hunter games have always performed well in Japan but Nintendo will be hoping that the Wii-exclusive title will be a massive success in Europe as well.

As you can see from the screenshots below, Monster Hunter Tri is certainly a looker and Capcom is describing it as 'one of the most strikingly beautiful games ever created for the Wii.'

In the game's single player story mode you'll play as a hunter whose village has been hit by a series of violent tremors that are threatening to destroy it. The village chief asks you to discover the source of the earthquakes and so you embark on a series of quests which see you facing off against gigantic beasts on land and at sea.

You'll also be able to form a team of up to four hunters online and there's a two player split-screen Arena mode.

Michael Pattison, Senior Director of marketing at Capcom is delighted to be teaming up with Nintendo, saying: "Nintendo has identified Monster Hunter Tri as a key title for the Wii platform in 2010. We are really excited about partnering with Nintendo to further develop this franchise."

Wow, I thought it would never get released in the west, let alone Europe in april. Unfortunately I can't see it selling extremely well, even with nintendo's backing. Although it's good see nintendo backing third party games, after that gta Chinatown wars story last month.

Nintendo kneeds to put everything behind this after the bad year they had in 2009 for big titles. Lets hope 2010 is a big improvement starting with this.
