In news that should have gamers excited, veteran Silent Hill composer and producer Akira Yamaoka has joined Grasshopper to work on Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami's upcoming game.
Yamaoka, who has composed the music for every Silent Hill game and produced most of them, left Konami last month leaving gamers wondering where he'd go next.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, No More Heroes creator Suda 51 had been a huge fan of Yamaoka ever since Silent Hill 2 and so quickly invited him to work at Grasshopper as soon as he heard he'd left Konami.
Yamaoka and Suda are now hard at work alongside Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami on a game for Electronic Arts, which Suda hopes will be revealed at E3 this year.

To recap, here's why this is a big deal. The two big names behind Silent Hill and Resident Evil, the two best survival horror series ever, teaming up to make a game together? And those two teaming up with Suda 51, No More Heroes creator and the gaming world's answer to Quentin Tarantino? All working together on a big-budget game being funded and published by EA? SOLD.
Yamaoka has said he's going to be leaving the development to Suda, Mikami and the rest of the Grasshopper team but will be composing the music for this game. This is awesome news, because Yamaoka has composed some of the best music we've ever heard in gaming. If you want proof of this you HAVE listen to his incredible Silent Hill 2 theme, especially when it kicks in at 1:30.
What would you like to see from this mysterious secret game? Would you like it to be more like Silent Hill, Resident Evil or No More Heroes? Or would you like them to try something completely different?
