The producer of Monster Hunter Tri has told Official Nintendo Magazine that he would like the next DS to have stronger online functionality.
As we approach the fifth anniversary of the release of DS in the UK, Monster Hunter Tri producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said "I would like to see any future iteration of the DS provide stronger online functionality. Obviously Monster Hunter games rely very heavily on network gaming and if there is anything that could be improved I would have the online side high on my list."
So does that mean that if DS has stronger online functionality, we'd see Monster Hunter coming to a Nintendo handheld? Tsujimoto wasn't saying but if it did happen, it wouldn't be the first time the series has jumped from a PlayStation to a Nintendo platform with Monster Hunter Tri being the first game in the series to be released exclusively on Wii.
Ryozo Tsujimoto is just one of many leading developers to reveal their vision for the future of DS in the new issue of Official Nintendo Magazine. You can read more in Issue 54 which goes on sale on Friday. The mag also includes a massive Monster Hunter Tri special feature.
