Super Mario 64

Mario's first 3D adventure
Like we need to tell you anything about this. Mario 64 invented playable 3D platforming. It was huge. It was replayable. It was charming, funny, clever and challenging, pushing Nintendo's newly launched N64 to its limits.

Yeah, it may have just appeared on the DS in a slightly remixed style, but this is the original you can play on your TV for a better look at its groundbreaking 3D world.

Instead of just bouncing from left to right you explored Princess Peach's castle in all its 3D glory. Instead of just jumping you crouched, swam and sneaked around, thanks to the N64 analogue controller. It was a revelation. Three-dimensional gaming was suddenly effortless and felt totally right - and games today are still copying Nintendo's perfect system. This really did change everything.
