Uridium

Basic shooting action from 1986...
Considering Commodore 64's library stretches to some 4,000 games it's slightly odd that Uridium is one of the first two titles to be made available for download. After all, it hardly shows what the C64 was capable of.

Uridium is not a terrible game but it's so basic that many people who play it may be put off by the C64 as a whole.

As a pilot of a Manta spacefighter, your mission is to shoot the various waves of enemy spacecraft that are defending their huge Dreadnought ships. Once you've shot enough you're then told to land on the craft. This triggers an explosive on the Dreadnought taht sets off as you fly away.

Uridium isn't a terrible game - it's just extremely basic. There are so many better shooters on the Virtual Console so it is hard to recommend to anyone other than fans of the original. If you've never played Uridium before we recommend the likes of R-Type or Super Star Solider instead.
