One Week To Go...

What would you like to see at E3 2008?
So it's that time of year again when most of the big games companies decamp to Los Angeles to show off what you'll be playing for the next year or so. The major date for your diary is next Tuesday when Nintendo will be holding its pre-E3 conference. These conferences have always been invite only affairs for the gaming media but these days, thanks to the internet, the whole world will be watching. That's why it's such a big deal as everyone will see what Wii and DS owners have to look forward to and it can help build the hype for a console or games.

You could trace Wii's success back to when Nintendo won a sceptical crowd over in 2006 by showing off the console alongside the first trailer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Next to the 2006 conference, 2007 was a bit more low key as although Mario Kart Wii, Metroid Prime Corruption and The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass were shown off, the only big surprise was Wii Fit.

So what can we expect this year? Well, Nintendo's US president has already declared that the company will be maximising all its key franchises. "All I can tell you is what we announce during E3 is gonna be fantastic," said Fils-Aime back in March. "The gamer is gonna be excited and the expanded audience is gonna be excited."

Of course everyone is hoping that Animal Crossing Wii will be there but what else would you like to see. What would be your dream line-up be?

Don't forget that Chandra will be blogging at E3 so be sure to return to the site next week to read his show reports.
