Games Galore!

Which ones are you looking forward to?
Having helped finish off issue 35 last week (expect it in shops next Friday), I took a look at what was in store for the next issue, as I usually do. Truth be told, I was a bit surprised to see how many games we're set to be reviewing in issue 36.

I know it's the start of the run-up to Christmas and so an increase in games is to be expected, but we're looking at over 30 reviews in one month here. That's a lot of gaming, especially for two systems that many people claim will have no titles coming out for them any time soon. It's safe to say that after the summer drought, the "game season" has kicked off again already.

Today sees the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Next week there's Wario Land: The Shake Dimension, Samba De Amigo and De Blob. The week after that? How about FIFA 09? Then the following week there's LEGO Batman, TNA Impact and NBA Live 09. A fortnight after that there's Sam & Max, then the week after that it's Mushroom Men. And that's just on the Wii.

How about the DS? Well, the fantastic Sonic Chronicles is out next week (check out my review in the next issue and on this site the day before it's out) along with SimCity Creator, then over the following weeks there's the likes of FIFA 09, Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations, LEGO Batman, Exit, Dementium: The Ward, MySims Kingdom and Ninjatown.

That's just all the big games from now until the end of next month. That's only five weeks' worth of games.

Naturally, you can expect more big titles nearer Christmas. Although some of these games may slip beyond Christmas, as far as we know just now Wii gamers can look forward to the likes of Animal Crossing: City Folk, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, Wii Music, WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009, Sonic Unleashed, Shaun White Snowboarding, Call Of Duty 5, Tomb Raider Underworld, MySims Kingdom, Dead Rising, Skate It, Rayman Raving Rabbids 3 and maybe a few other surprises that some big developers may still have up their sleeve (wink, wink).

As for the DS? Well, how about Prince Of Persia: The Fallen King, Pokémon Ranger 2, Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades, Trackmania DS, Professor Layton, N+ and GTA: Chinatown Wars?

My question to you this week is simple: with all these games coming out soon, which are the ones you're looking forward to most? Do any of you have your Christmas lists planned already, with three months to go?
