Bomberman 2

More brilliant blasting from the 'man
There are approximately 40 Bomberman games on the DS (give or take 36 or so) so calling this one Bomberman 2 is a bit of a cheeky move. In fairness, regardless of the title, this is probably the best handheld Bomberman game we've played.

For once the game has a pretty solid single-player mode, with multi-roomed stages that present the player with a variety of missions other than simply 'blow everyone up' and a large number of unlockable outfits that upgrade your Bomberman.

Of course, Bomberman is all about the multiplayer modes and it's here where Bomberman 2 impresses, offering a ridiculous amount of stages and rules for up to eight players locally and online. Wii owners have got Bomberman Blast on WiiWare to provide them with their ultimate Bomberman multiplayer experience, so it's only fitting that now DS owners have got their own definitive game in the series. Simply put, if you don't have a Bomberman game for the DS then this is the one you need to buy.

The previous Bomberman game on DS was excellent but much-needed online modes makes the sequel a classic.
  Good single-player mode
  Variety of missions
  Loads of multiplayer stages
  Now online!
  Selecting equipment is fiddly
