Here's the news that will delight Pokémon fans. Nintendo has confirmed that Pokémon Gold & Silver will be remade for DS.
It has been strongly rumoured that Gold & Silver would be remade for DS ever since the Pokémon Sunday Japanese TV programme said a major announcement would be made on 10 May. Yet confirmation has appeared a few days early on Nintendo's Japanese website
The remakes are set to be released in Japan this autumn to coincide with the tenth anniversary of Pokémon Gold & Silver. They will be called Pokémon Heart Gold and Pokémon Soul Silver.

Pokémon Gold & Silver has long been a favourite amongst veteran fans of the series. The original games were released in the UK in 2001 and saw the number of Pokémon being increased to 251. They also introduced the legendary Pokémon Raikou, Entei, and Suicune.
They were also the first to feature a real-time day and night cycle and monster breeding.
There is no word of a UK release for Gold & Silver yet but we'll keep you updated.
