Pokémon Platinum and Professor Layton And The Curious Village have received three nominations each in the 2009 Golden Joystick Awards.
Pokémon Platinum
After 270,000 votes were cast, the longlist has been whittled down to a shortlist and Pokémon Platinum and Professor Layton are the Nintendo-published games with the most nominations.
Both games made the shortlist for Family Game, Handheld Game and Nintendo Game Of The Year categories. However, neither managed a nomination in the Ultimate Game Of The Year Category.
Nintendo have also been nominated for Publisher of the year award while Wii Music is up for the Family award.
Professor Layton And The Curious Village
The awards look set to be hotly contested with Layton and Platinum going up against the likes of GTA: Chinatown Wars, Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger in the handheld award which was won by Zelda: Phantom Hourglass in 2008.
The best Nintendo Game award will also be interesting with Call Of Duty: World At War, FIFA 09, GTA Chinatown Wars, Super Mario RPG and Guitar Hero: World Tour also nominated.
