I'm working on getting Stars now myself, got a few 2 Stars on 50cc including a 3 Star on the last of the Wii cups (can't remember which one it is!) and working on 100cc now. I'm not bothered about getting 2 or 3, 1 will do so I get the unlockables. But I have now got all the Expert Ghosts now!

Can someone PLEASE give me tips on Shy Guy Beach! I've got every expert ghost except that one. My time is in the low 1:41 and I can't seem to get it any lower 
Any tips?

trying to get at least 1 star in each cup. done all up to mirror mode with 2 stars in mirror mode. but the computer hates me and keeps waiting till last lap of last course of gp to decide to bombard me!!!
arrrggggghhhh!!!!!
im so close to throwing my wiimote at the screen!!

took me a while to get that one. i chose the fasest bike i could that is also good of road. dont worry about acceleration as ur not gonna get hit with any items (unless those damn crabs get u) try cutting off corners, and going over shallow water, pulling wheelies when ever u can!! a good offroader should still manage good speeds in the shallows.

I've mainly been trying karts, but I'll try bikes (I'll need to practise with bikes though >.>).
And yes, those crabs can burn in hell for all I care

Tried out the Blue Falcon. As cool as it is, I think I'll stick to the Rally Romper.
All I need now is a star rank on 150cc Special Cup and I've unlocked Dry Bowser.
I found the best way to get Star Ranks is to come first in every race and try not to fall in pits. That always works for me.

as long as i finish every race first, i have always got at least 1 star rating. dont know whats needed for 2 or 3 stars though |

Those damn crabs have it in for me! I can be in a 12 player online race in say 8th place and they will dodge the first 7 guys and come specifically looking for me   |

As for any problematic course, one resort assuming you have WiFi is to download the course champion ghost and use it as a guide.

Use Something with fairly good offroading capabilitys or the bowser bike for that last damned corner. Use yourf boosts over the island short cut where there is a crab on the island.

Yes but the world champion ghosts surpass the expert ones. A good remedy for someone without WiFi though. I should have mentioned that.

On the shy guy beach does the light blue water slow you down? are we suppseod to keep to the main track throughout?

I believe it does slightly. Keepin' to the main track is your best bet. |

I've got the game back, and i really cba with getting Dry Bowser, it took me a couple of goes to egt Bowser Jr. so i doubt that i will get boner in one shot. Any else feel like this?

New Gametrailers Review if it hasn't been linked already.
I'm glad they've picked up on the unbalanced item system and general dumbing down for new/poor players like everyone else has. Looks like Nintendo might start to take notice of these problems for future Mario Karts and other games.
I feel like justice has been done for hardcore players

of the reviews i have read. Most have been positive.
Like the Guardian newspaper gave it a FLYING 5/5.
Which has only been given to Mario Galaxy, COD4 and like 10 others. which i think is amazing.
IGN can't review games. . Not US. The guy reviewing started off by saying Mario Kart 64 was the worst of all mario karts....
they should not review games on IGN. cos... they can't.

Hold up! Who says that Mario Kart 64 isn't the worst Mario Kart game. I'd agree that it is! The 3D tracks are too wide and racing usually feels lonely. The track design is bland and boring for the most part along with the slippery drift controls. And the AI is by far the worst in any Mario Kart game to date! So bad it actually cheats. Rubber banding, items out of nowhere, meraculous recovery rates. It's easily topped by any other Mario Kart.
IGN gave Mario Kart Wii a very fair score and, if you've noticed, almost every other MKWii review has given the game around 8/10. The only exception is ONM which somehow managed to overlook all its problems and gave it a whopping 94%.
...and I'm sure "The Guardian" know how to review games don't they

Mario KArt 64 was in my mind.... the best. Addictive, fast, fun, GREAT Ai.... for it's genre of cartoony speedy racing. Seriously. Most people LOVED mario kart 64.

Stupid single player was so unfair today, its 100cc the ai aren't supposed to be this good!
Then I decided to try my luck at online to see if I did any better on it and did I just!
Got points on 3 races and then luigi circuit was chosen for the second time, on the last lap, I got a pow block and overtook everybody on the last stretch, then later we did it again and this time on the same last stretch I got a star and somebody used lightning but of course it didn't affect me, so I raced ahead and over the finish line, I also one a race due to the fact that everybody was disconnected

shockingly id argue the ds one was the worst of the lot (although i havent played smk). it felt less like a mariokart game than any of the others did for me, personally.

Well in my experience, newspaper reviewers never know what they're talking about when it comes to games... anyway it may be a matter of opinion but there's no doubt that Mario Kart 64's AI is really bad. I played it a few days ago and 150cc is just as bad as MKWii. Except this time it's not caused by item spamming, it's because the AI can catch up to you at any point no matter how far infront you are. FACT.
Anyone else agree that Mario Kart 64 is worst MK like me and IGN???
